Online Coaching Program
Join us online for a four-week guided journey where I’ll help you create the home you’ve always wanted starting with what you already have. You’ll pick one room in your house and focus on that space for the duration of the four weeks. Although the course was designed to move through a week at a time, you can go at your own pace spending more or less time focusing on where your room needs the most attention.
This course includes:
- Four weekly coaching webinars featuring inspiring photos and real life examples
- Access to a private Facebook group where we can encourage each other and share photos
- Weekly challenges to post and share about the progress of your room
- That happy feeling you get when a space in your home starts to look more like what you’ve always imagined
We all want a pretty home.
But what if you don’t know where to start?
Cozy & Minimal are BFFs
Cozy (a feeling of warmth, comfort & relaxation) & Minimal (the least amount of something to achieve a specific goal) aren’t opposites. They work great together to help you create a beautiful home in your own style without being overwhelming. I’ll show you how. If you are living in an overwhelmed house but underwhelmed with your options to change it, you’ve come to the right place.
We’ll cover these topics and more:
Each week during the online coaching program, Myquillyn will host a one hour coaching webinar. These recorded gatherings are accessible in the members’ area so you can watch & listen at often as you like. You access the class via your computer and watch the webinar in the comfort of your home as Myquillyn offers easy to implement, step-by-step decorating advice while inspiring you with the hundreds of thoughtful, adorable and fun slides. It’s SO movtivating!
Cozy Private Facebook Group
The Cozy Minimalist Facebook group is a place for you to post your questions, pictures of your home (for feedback and advice), and a space to get to know fellow cozy minimalists. You’ll be surprised at how much motivation you’ll find in here! Being part of a community with a common goal is so powerful–plus, it’s fun! This is everyone’s favorite part of the course!
Let’s have some fun creating the home you’ve always wanted. Each week, we’ll issue a design challenge you can share, post, and collaborate on. This course is not a sit back and watch and learn–you’ll be making changes in one room in your home and by the end of the four weeks, your space is going to look SO different!
I’m Myquillyn Smith, known also as The Nester and I’ve written a home decor blog all about family style design in imperfect spaces for over nine years. My husband and I have moved 14 times in 20 years of being married and even though that was a huge pain at the time, I now look back and see how much each of those homes taught me about contentment, the importance of making a home where ever you are, and even the joy of temporary fixes (because 10 out of those 14 homes were rentals!). I literally wrote the book on imperfect design; The Nesting Place, our home has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens, Cottages & Bungalows, Oprah.com, Woman’s Day and so many more. But mostly, I’ve figured out how to create a home I love, a home I’m happy to invite people into, a home that lets me rest–no matter where I find myself. Currently, my husband and I live with our three teenage boys in a 1980’s wanna be farmhouse that is a major fixer-upper. I want to help you love the home you are with. Right where you are, starting with what you already have.

I loved this online course. Myquillyn’s fun personality and tips helped me put together a room that I can relax in and feel comfortable hosting guests in. Her process helped me better understand the voice that my home has.” –D.P., Cozy Minimalist Online Grad: Spring, 2015
“The Cozy Minimalist course was a great jump start to learning how to create a beautiful home that works the best for my family, using what I already have. It gave me the confidence to take risks and know how to get the most out of my decorating dollar. The few changes I made had big results… I’ll be using and sharing everything I learned in this course for years to come!”- A.K., Cozy Minimalist Online Grad: Spring, 2015
“This course provided a HUGE amount of information, in an easy to follow format. Breaking down one room, and building it back up over four weeks, helped to really understand the process. There was a lot to learn, but I was also encouraged because I could see the things I had already done correctly.”- S.P., Cozy Minimalist Online Grad: Spring, 2015

Frequently asked questions
What's a Cozy Minimalist?
A cozy minimalist is anyone who wants a beautiful home using just the right amount of items–not too much stuff, not too little. Cozy minimalism has nothing to do with a particular style, modern furniture, white walls or counting your possessions. It’s about being purposeful with what you already have and creating a home that fits your family’s needs and personality–without being overwhelmed with excess stuff. Almost everyone I know is a Cozy Minimalist at heart–they just haven’t thought of it that way before.
Will I get anything in the mail?
No, indeed! It’s 2017. All course material is digital, baby.
What time is the webinar?
The webinars/teaching sessions are all recorded and ready for you to watch at your own pace. If you are a part of the Cozy Minimalist Community with the private facebook page, every week we’ll post the link to the teaching sessions along with a reminder of the assignment and prompts for you to share your progress by uploading photos to facebook and commenting with questions and encouragement for others.
What's a webinar anyway?
A webinar is an online event that has a host (Myquillyn) and is broadcast to a select group of individuals (Cozy Minimalists) through their computers via the internet. (A webinar is sometimes also referred to as a “webcast”, “online event” or “web seminar”.) A webinar allows a host to share PowerPoint presentations, videos, web pages or other multimedia content with audiences that can be located anywhere. Myquillyn will be guiding you through the content every week, so be sure to have your computer volume turned up–or grab your earbuds. As you watch on your computer, you’ll see a presentation with photos, And don’t worry, you can wear your PJs, no one will see you!
Will you offer this course again?
I hope so!
